Mexico Adventure: Part 1

So I went to Mexico for the first time since I was in high school. It was an exciting experience. I had a friend of mine and his brother take me and my new wife around Tijuana. He was former US army and was a great guide. We got mulitas from a street vendor, which is like a taco and a quesadilla combined. I had carne asada in mine, which was was great. The meat was tender and so tasty. The guacamole actually was a bit watery and overall needed some salt. But the beef made up for it. Naturally, my spanish-speaking friend ordered for me.

We then walked around the new LDS Tijuana temple. The grounds were nice, but the actual temple was closed.

We then checked into the hotel. It was a nice little place about 2 miles from the border. It was surprisingly new, with fancy memory foam on the bed, exclusively led lights, and quite new paint. The man at the front desk didn't speak English, so I had to have my friend help. They wanted a 5 dollar deposit for my TV remote, which seems so strange to me.

We then went to the mall and looked around. The bathrooms proved troublesome as they were labeled damas y caballeros instead of like mujeres y hombres. There also were no pictures to tell us which was which. So we waited for someone else to go in first.

My wife went in and told me you had to get the paper before you sat down to use the toilet, which seems strange to me. Also the faucet was "upside down" with the lever you need to press to get water on the bottom of the faucet.

The stores were actually surprisingly expensive for clothes. My friend explained anything imported is cheaper in the US.

We then went to Star Wars: The Force Awakens. It was only 7 bucks for two tickets. We got to pick our seats in advance too. It was quite nice.

It was about 9 when the movie ended. We then went to a street with a bunch of different food stands with little like bar you sat at to order. I had some tongue and it was so tender; it was quite good. I also had my first torta in Mexico. The bread was so soft and the chorizos skin was quite crispy and tasty.
